August 19th - August 20th, 2017

Our spiritual life involves constant progress. That progress is marked by transitions from one level of faith to another. Baptism is the mark of our most important transition. The ritual of baptism duplicates the model of Jesus Christ when He was crucified, buried, and returned to life. When Christ rose, His body was different than before. He was free from the limitations and pain of mortality. This is the transition from death to life. The Christian life follows His pattern. We "sacrifice" our lives by giving them to God. Our old lives, with their wrong actions and evil desires, are "buried." God then gives us a new life, inspired and energized by His Spirit.

Baptism represents this three stage process. We believe in Jesus and join Him in His death, burial, and resurrection. Baptism is our rite-of-passage into the Christian life. If you're ready to follow Jesus, you're ready to be baptized.

Pastor Sean Kappauf will be teaching on baptism the weekend of August 12th and 13th. Be sure to catch his message live or check it out online.

Baptisms will take the following weekend, August 19th and 20th, during each service. Please be sure to check in at the Prayer Room 15 minutes before the service you signed up for.

Simon's Net Fishing Day

September 2nd, 2017

No fishing license is required on this day!!

Simon’s Net Ministries is for everyone and provides our church family with another unique way to have a relationship with Christ, through the sport of fishing. Beside our church family we target disadvantaged youth in Orange County, as we want God’s love and joy filling the hearts of the young through this “hands on” fishing experience.

Fishing trips details During the summer months CBC/Simon’s Net Ministries charters the Clemente a 65’ sport fishing boat out of Dana Wharf Sportfishing and can take up to 55 people fishing. On these fishing trips, as we are traveling to the fishing grounds, we have a bible lesson for the kids and on the way back trophies are given out for the 3-biggest fish caught by a child under 16 years old. Via donations Simon’s Net has acquired fishing gear and can provide free loaner fishing rods, reels and fishing supplies to all the children and some adults on these trips.

The exact itinerary will be provided to you once your application is approved and deposit is made.
