Baptism

April 27th, 2017

Our spiritual life involves constant progress. That progress is marked by transitions from one level of faith to another. Baptism is the mark of our most important transition. The ritual of baptism duplicates the model of Jesus Christ when He was crucified, buried, and returned to life. When Christ rose, His body was different than before. He was free from the limitations and pain of mortality. This is the transition from death to life. The Christian life follows His pattern. We "sacrifice" our lives by giving them to God. Our old lives, with their wrong actions and evil desires, are "buried." God then gives us a new life, inspired and energized by His Spirit.

Baptism represents this three stage process. We believe in Jesus and join Him in His death, burial, and resurrection. Baptism is our rite-of-passage into the Christian life. If you're ready to follow Jesus, you're ready to be baptized.

Baptism Class: 5:30 pm in the Prayer Room Baptisms will take place during the service starting at 6:30 pm

April 29th, 2017

Dog Psychology 101 Seminar and Free Training Classes –

Trinity Counseling Ministries will be facilitating a no-cost seminar on the psychology of the dog – and – how to “speak dog” followed by three no cost training classes on-site at Capo Beach Church. The goal of the seminar and training is to provide dog owners the basic tools necessary to safely work alongside their dog – bringing joy to those they serve. Perhaps you have thought that you would like to visit a local nursing home with your dog, or a hospital, or, volunteer at a local school reading program using your dog as a helper. Our training program is designed specifically to help ensure you are able to do just that, safely and with confidence. Even if your decision is not to serve with your dog, we welcome all dog owners who would like to have a better working relationship with their dog to attend.

During the seminar you will learn about the types of service/therapy a dog can assist in, how to train a dog to really understand what you want, how to positively effect change in your dog’s behaviors, and, how to be viewed as a leader by your dog. After the seminar, you will practice these techniques and then you and your dog will participate in a practice AKC ™ “Canine Good Citizen” exam.

The Seminar will be held Saturday April 29, 2017 from 9AM-12PM.

Those who attend the seminar are also welcome to come to three free group training classes. These classes will include bringing your dog and practicing the techniques and concepts taught in the seminar.
